W Criteria: CDIS 296W is most often taken by Honors students during their final semester. The senior thesis represents the culmination of a research experience that has been conducted under the supervision of a faculty advisor in the Communication Disorders program. In all instances the thesis will consist of four primary sections: (a) introduction/statement of the problem and research questions/hypotheses; (b) methodology, how the experiement was carried out; (c) results; and (d) discussion of how the findings fit with the existing literature on this topic. In all instances the students turn in multiple drafts of each section and receive feedback regarding content, clarity of writing, APA style, and meaningfulness. Length of theses vary but are rarely less than 35 pages and never shorter than 15.
